Marrakech is a city of contrasts — ancient and modern, chaotic and serene, overwhelming and irresistible. Three days is enough to scratch the surface of this extraordinary place, but you'll leave wanting more.
Day 1: The Medina
Start your first morning at the Djemaa el-Fna, the UNESCO-listed central square that transforms throughout the day from a quiet market into a carnival of snake charmers, storytellers, and food vendors at night. Explore the souks — leather goods in the Chouara tannery quarter, spices in Rahba Kedima, and textiles in the Kissaria.
In the afternoon, visit the Bahia Palace and the 16th-century Saadian Tombs. End the day with dinner on a rooftop terrace overlooking the medina.
Day 2: Gardens and Galleries
Marrakech has some of the finest gardens in North Africa. The Majorelle Garden, restored by Yves Saint Laurent, is a vivid blue oasis. Nearby, the YSL Museum is worth an hour. In the afternoon, explore the Mellah (Jewish quarter) and the colourful Mouassine neighbourhood.
Day 3: Day Trip to the Atlas
Rent a car or join a shared taxi to the Ourika Valley, just 60 km from the city. The valley offers waterfalls, Berber villages, and panoramic Atlas views — a perfect contrast to the intensity of the medina.
Getting to Marrakech
Marrakech Menara Airport serves international and domestic flights. By bus, CTM and Supratours connect Marrakech to Casablanca, Agadir, Fes, and Ouarzazate daily. Check Mosafir for schedules and stops.
